Changes to HMC&E regulations impact fuel costs April 2008

Increased fuel costs will NOT be passed on to our customers!

Most people are probably not aware that vehicles classified as for use in roads maintenance are eligible to use 'Red' diesel, that is diesel with no Customs & Excise fuel levy appled.

Due to recent changes in HMCE regulations, this exemption will be removed as of April 1st 2008.

'Red' diesel costs substantially less than 'white' diesel (the diesel you buy at garage pumps) - meaning that overnight fuel costs to our industry will increase by almost 50%

This increase will have a serious impact on many white lining companies costs and profitability, and we are aware that many of our competitors are planning to impose additional fuel surcharges even on works already quoted for, if those works are scheduled after April 1st.

Riggotts will not be applying surcharges - nor will we be increasing our base prices.

Thanks to thoughfull planning, intelligent management strategies and extensive use of our state-of-the-art works planning and scheduling systems,  Riggotts are confident that we can absorb these increased costs without passing any elements on to our customers.
