Nottinghamshire-based Riggotts were tasked by contractors PJ Careys PLC in Wembley to devise a pre-formed resin in the unusual, futuristic shape and then mark out the complicated set of lines for bas basketball courts as part of the transformation of Events Square. The Square, which is central to the local enjoy –Work programme of activities and events, is being updated as part of the expansion of Chiswick Park with additional office, retail and leisure facilities.
Riggotts adapted its recentl recently-launched Esseline range of surface coatings and line markings to create Esseline PR which has the flexibility to be cut into a variety of shapes and comes in a wide range of colours.
Riggotts Commercial Director Nick Riggott continued: “ We were approached by contractors PJ Careys who needed a totally bespoke and unique approach to the job. “Our existing Esseline range is ideal for internal and external surface coatings and line markings. We adapted this existing technology to create a new product, Esseline PR, which is a highly flexible, pre-formed resin that is UV stable and lead free.
“The initial work was handled at our premises in Tuxford and we then took this in parts to Chiswick Park where it was bonded into place and then marked out to the architect’s specification.
“By using Esseline PR which is colour UV stable and lead free, we have created an eye catching and sustainable public open space which can be used constructively by young people and will look as good in years to come as it does today. “The job took just over two weeks to complete from start to finish and we are delighted with the results.”
