Riggotts transport manager Dave Corringham represents Great Britain in the Trathlon at the AWAD European Games
Dave Corringham, Riggotts transport manager, is to represent Great Britain in the European Games for Athletes With A Disability (AWAD) in Lisbon in May 2008
Dave will represent Great Britain in the Standard Distance Triathlon
Event, held on 11th May. The event comprises a 1 mile swim,
followed by a 40km cycle race, followed by a 10km run. Dave flies
out to Lisbon on May 8th, giving him a whole 2 days to acclimatise
himself.
Dave lost his left arm at the shoulder in a road accident in
1986. Always a keen runner, following the accdient he took up
swimming as a challenge, joking at the time that he would just go
around in circles !. Always looking for new challenges, Dave's
next mission was to master cycling, which he has managed exceedingly
well - despite being knocked off recently by a White Van Man on the A1!
Dave trains regularly with Retford Wheelers cycling club, Retford
Athletics club, and Retford Swimming club.

Dave has also won sponsorship for his efforts from TriUK

Dave is a member of both the England and Great Britain AWAD
squad. He will also be competing in the triathlon event at the GB
national championships at Rother Valley in June this year.
We hope you will join us in wishing Dave every success at Lisbon and
Rother Valley.
